If you had to write a poem about your life RIGHT NOW, what would it be about? Explain your answer in at least 4 to 5 sentences.

  Prompt Response:   If I had to write a poem right now, I would write about possibilities in the future. I have many things I like and find interesting, and I can't seem to decide on what I want to commit to. I am afraid I might choose the wrong path that won't take me anywhere. I feel a sense of urgency to figure out what I will do in the future, so I want to try things I am already good at.   Summary: Today we took notes on how to write a rhetorical analysis. Reflection:  I took good notes and did the blog post. 

When you are in a mood that you do not like, what are some strategies that you use to change your mood?

Prompt Response:   Some strategies that I use to change my mood is to take a deep breath, go to another room with nobody in it, and think about what made me that way. Then I ask myself how I can change my mood. Summary: Today we did 2 common lit assignments.  Reflection: I finished the assignments and the blog. 

Describe your personal approach to creativity. What steps do you follow when you’re working on a project. Tell me about a project you created that you were most proud of.

Prompt Response: When I am creating a project, start by searching for the information that my project will convey. Then I make an outline of the steps in my head and what could work or look nice. After that, I start creating and retouching anything that doesn't feel right at the moment. I was most proud of creating a physical brain for my psychology class using clay and other materials. Summary: Today we worked on an assignment in writable  Reflection:   I finished the writable assignment 

After two weeks of studying rhetorical devices, types of rhetoric, and methods for identifying rhetorical techniques, which rhetorical device do you find most effective or compelling, and why?

Prompt Response:  I think logos and Procatalepsis is one of the effective methods in writing because with logos there must be logic, evidence, and statistics to support an argument. Procatalepsis brings the counterargument before they are raised which is something very important when writing an essay.  Summary: Today we did a rhetorical device test.  Reflection:  I finished the test and the blog.

Prompt Response:   The word surfeit resonates with me. In my grandparents backyard grew many sorts fruit trees like mandarins and oranges, mangos, pomegranate, and guayaba. There was a tree that grew a surfeit of spondias purpurea ( jocotes). I remember trying climbing that tree to get the biggest and reddest fruit. That's why the word 'surfeit' resonates with me because of my childhood.  Summary: Today we worked on vocabulary lesson 7 and exercises 3 and 4 Reflection:  I finished making my own sentences for each vocabulary and the exercises 

Write about a time you didn’t feel like yourself.

Prompt Response:   On the winter concert last year, my sister didn't attend the concert. Her absence made me feel a bit lonely until the concert was finished. I didn't feel like myself then.  Summary: Today we worked on finding rhetorical appeals and devices in the "I Have Dream" speech. Reflection:  I will finish finding the devices for homework.

  Describe a place where you feel the most at peace and explain why.   Prompt Response:  The place where I feel the most peace is at is taking a walk at the park after it rains and the sun comes out. I love the smell of the ground as I am walking and the sun is out. It makes me appreciate and reflect on things better.  Summary: Today we worked on 2 new rhetorical devices. Reflection:  I will finish the exercise for each device. 

What life skills have you learned in high school that will help you live independently after high school? Which skills do you think are essential for your success after high school?

Prompt Response:   Some life skills I have learned are not to procrastinate, preparing in advance for anything, starting early, checking progress in goals, and time management . I think that time management, communication, and preparation are essential for success after high school.  Summary: Today we took notes on the types of rhetoric Reflection:   I took notes about the lesson today.   

Reflect on a time when you had to rely on someone else. How did it feel?

Prompt Response:   I always rely on God in every moment in my life. I feel extremely grateful for all that His has given me but I feel disappointed in myself for not trying harder to have a stronger relationship with Him. Summary: Today we worked on identifying rhetorical devices in a Trumps speech in groups.  Reflection:  I will finish identifying the rhetorical devices. 

Describe a time when you took a hiatus from something important. What led to the break, and how did it impact you?

Prompt Response:   I have taken a break from my phone. I tend to find myself doom scrolling at times where I shouldn't. During this time, I turn to spending quality time with my younger siblings, watching something educational, cleaning or crocheting. I found that when I do these things I feel more fulfilled and happy that I got something done rather than doom scrolling for hours.  Summary: Today we learned 3 more rhetorical devices and took notes on them.  Reflection:   I completed the exercises we did and turned them in. 

Use a hyperbole, an understatement, and a litotes to describe today's lesson.

Prompt Response:  Hyperbole: Today's literature class was so long that I aged 50 years.                                            Understatement: Class today was so easy, I was playing a game in my head.                                                  Litotes:  Today's lesson was not that hard.                                                 Summary: Today we learned and made our own sentences about a hyperbole, an understatement, and a litotes. Reflection:  I finished my sentences, took notes, and turned it in.

Prompt Response:   Over the Holiday Break, I made tamales which was a very long process and had fun dicing the fruit for the Ponche. I loved the firework we watched on Christmas Ave and the quality time I've spent on my uncles house for New Years. I also played tennis and walked at the park with my family.  The first goal I hope to achieve in 2026 is completing my work on time.  This goal is important to me because not procrastinating will help ease the stress that comes with rushing to learn something or to complete something.  To achieve this, I will set reminders to do the assignments when they are due, and organize them based on importance or difficulty. By the time school ends, I stilI plan to keep the habit even if it's not for school work.
