After viewing your classmates’ digital posters and reading the feedback comments left on your work, what new ideas or perspectives did you gain about your poster? Reflect on how the feedback influenced the way you think about your creative choices and describe what you learned about the creative process while designing and presenting your poster.

Prompt Response:  While look at other students digital posters, they were very well organized and the themes were very nice. I like how everyone said that my posters looks neat and professional. I realized that maybe I should use more colors that pop out but also add some of the things I like.  Summary : Today we read our feedback for the essay and commented on other students poster. Reflection : I read the feedback and I commented.

Reflect on the simile and metaphor worksheet. Which topic challenged you the most when creating your figurative language, and why? In your response, explain what made that topic difficult and how you worked through the challenge (or what you might do differently next time).

Reflect on the simile and metaphor worksheet. Which topic challenged you the most when creating your figurative language, and why? In your response, explain what made that topic difficult and how you worked through the challenge (or what you might do differently next time). Prompt Response:  The topic that challenged me the most was the pressure to succeed because I realized that I was the one putting too much pressure and expectations, instead of others pressuring me. That made me realize that I may be too hard on myself and that I shouldn't. I should take it slow and steady, not fast because when I learn to do that I won't be so stressed.  Summary: Today we went over our similes and metaphors and started creating a poster in Adobe Express. Reflection:  I will finish my poster before class.

Today you created similes and metaphors that reflect your struggles, growth, and resilience. In a well-developed paragraph, reflect on the process. What did you learn about yourself while writing your figurative language?

Prompt Response:  While writing the similes and metaphors, I realized that I had a difficult time to think of situations that related to the topic. When the topic was about what other said about me, I couldn't think of a situation. For example, the topic of doubt and criticism, the only thing that came to mind was MY self doubt, instead of what others have said. The most important part of this assignment was learning that I am surrounded by good and inspiring friends that always have positive energy, but that I shouldn't be too hard on myself. Summary : Today we started a new assignment about making similes and metaphors about ourselves.  Reflection:  I will finish the assignment

Describe how you spent your time, any activities, traditions, travel, hobbies, or moments that stood out to you. You may also discuss something new you tried, something you learned, or how the break helped you reset before returning to school. Keep your response appropriate for a school setting and focus on experiences you are comfortable sharing publicly image.png

Prompt Response:  During the break I went to church, pack to move, cooked, and went to the park. One of the moments that stood out to me was going to church because the message the pastor gave was very inspirational. The break made me reflect that I missed talking to friends and being around them. I also realized how much I really enjoy creating, fixing, and helping others.  Summary: Today we read and analyzed a poem. Reflection:  I finished interpreting the similes and metaphors in the poem.

Now that you have completed the rhetorical analysis essay, reflect on your growth. Explain how this experience impacted your confidence as a writer and whether you feel prepared to continue analyzing complex speeches and texts in American Literature. Support your reflection with specific references to the writing process.

Prompt Response:  This experience taught me to not overthink what I wrote and to write the whole essay first then go back and revise it. It made me feel like I have improved my writing compared to last year. I feel prepared to continue writing another speech because I know now how everything should sound like.  Summary: Today we wrote our rhetorical essay . Reflection:  I finished the essay.

If you had to describe how you show love using only three objects (for example: a playlist, a hoodie, a late-night snack, a long text message, etc.), what would you choose and why? Explain what each object represents and how it connects to your personality.

Prompt Response:  I would choose gifts, kind notes, and camera to show my love for the people I care about. I love making gifts for others and finding things that make me remember them. I also like writing nice things about them to remind them how special they are to me and because I tend to be shy to say it out aloud. Finally, I would choose a camera to take pictures of them and remember the happy memories. I feel these objects show how I tend to show my love through mostly small actions that make the other person feel special to me and show how considerate and thoughtful I am.  Summary: Today we wrote a poem to someone we care and love about. Reflection:   I finished my poem.

Today, you learned how to complete a rhetorical analysis planning guide step by step, from identifying the rhetorical situation to analyzing devices and effects. Reflect on one step of the rhetorical analysis process that helped you understand the process more clearly. Explain what you learned during that step and how it improved your ability to analyze a speaker’s message.

Prompt Response:  One step of the rhetorical analysis that  made me understand the process more clearly is the body paragraph because I learned what the topic sentence should have and the what the evidence and commentary should look like. I should also add a strong verb in the topic sentence to make sure that my topic sentence is strong. I learned to add more transition words to connect my sentences better.  Summary: Today we went step by step on how to write a rhetorical analysis essay.  Reflection:  I will finish filling out the graphic organizer before Thursday.

I want it to be full of fun like playing arcade games,  and competing against each other over the silliest things or even kart racing. What is the best piece of advice of that your parent or guardian has given you? Tell what the advice was and what prompted you to ask the question.

Prompt Response:  I have never asked my mom for advice, I just figure out solutions for my problems. Even though I don't ask, I know that she might say to always work hard and to have self-respect. I haven't asked because she has said phrases that are like advice, for example to lead a good life, and to make wise decisions.  Summary: T oday we read a new poem, analyzed it , and worked on an assignment on Writable. What is the most challenging part of working in a group? Discuss a time when a group assignment did not go as well as you planned and how you learned from that experience.

Prompt Response:  The most challenging part of working in a group is to communicate properly. In my engineering class we were given the task of completing a cardboard chair. I wasn't there that day, so my teacher put me with a group of students I didn't know. I led the group and I tried to ask them for their ideas or suggestions, but they didn't contribute any. I learned that its very important to include the group members, and properly share ideas and combine them to make a great project.  Summary: Today we took notes on rhetorical situations and did a writable assignment.  Reflection:  I completed the assignment and my blog post.

What is the most challenging part of writing an essay for you? Is it brainstorming, organizing ideas, writing a strong thesis, or something else? How do you plan to overcome this challenge?

Prompt Response:   The most challenging part of writing an essay is to brainstorm ideas, putting them together, and come up with the right words to support my claim. I plan to connect my sentences with transition words and not over think what I write.  Summary: Today we worked on MLK rhetorical writing on Writable  Reflection:  I completed the assignment.

Describe a real moment in your life that felt like the beginning of a powerful story. Tell what happened, and why it felt like a turning point in your life?

Prompt Response:  The moment my mom decided to move to the U.S was a time in my life that felt like the start of a powerful story. We left the country for various reasons. Although we faced many problems and set backs from that point till now, I can say that they were all necessary to make me and my family strong now. We were able to overcome, grow, learn and change from all those low points. Thats why I believe that her decision marked the first step to my power story.  Summary: Went over the steps to write a rhetorical analysis. Reflection:  I finished my rhetorical analysis writing practice.
