Describe one thing that makes you different from other people.

Prompt Response: Nowadays many girls, not all, wear a lot of revealing clothes or maybe even too baggy. I believe one thing that makes me different from other girls is the way I dress. I find revealing too much skin makes me uncomfortable and isn´t  the way I want to be perceived. To me not showing too much skin, makes me feel safe and better about myself. It reflects a part of who I am. Summary: Today we learned about Emily Dickinson and her poetry. Reflection:  I learned how being different is acceptable and that makes me stand out in a world where everyone tries to be or do the normal. Following what you truly believe to be good for you is acceptable.

Dickinson uses the metaphor of a funeral to describe her inner struggles. What metaphor would you use to describe your own mind?

Dickinson uses the metaphor of a funeral to describe her inner struggles. What metaphor would you use to describe your own mind? Prompt Response:  The metaphor I would use to describe my own mind is "My mind is a muscle.¨ Muscle get sore when you exercise. Although it hurts, you know that it will be a gain for you and you will become stronger. My mind, even through the tough challenges that I have gone through, they made my character stronger. Life is continuously trying to make me a better version of myself.  Summary: Today we worked on three Common Lit assignments and Blog Post.  Reflection: I learned that through distance, love will be shown one way or the other. Love is shown through a balance between actions and words.

Write about an adventure you would like to go on.

Prompt Response:   I would like to travel to Spain. I want to experience Spain's culture and beauty. In Spain, I would visit Barcelona's Sagrada Familia because I want to see the mesmerizing intricate building that took so long to build. It would challenge me to be more creative and admire the beauty of architecture. I would also go to Seville Cathedral and Alcazar because I believe that my inner child would really like to experience being inside a castle-like building.  Summary: Today we had a vocabulary quiz and the answers were all A's.  Reflection:  I learned to always be prepare regardless if the due date is far. The results are what I was preparing for.

Describe something you will never fully understand.

Prompt Response: I can never fully understand why couples have children even though they are not in a great financial state or why have children when you won't show them love. Some couples live in a very harsh and poor environment yet, they still have multiple children. The children grow up in poverty or maybe they are neglected by their parents or get involved in bad situations just to survive. Some parents treat their children as if it was their fault they have many problems and sometimes take their anger out on them or they don't take responsibility. I also don't understand how anyone hits a baby/ small kids just because they are angry. Many children live this way and they never get to know what love is and some turn out the same because that's what they grew up with. It's truly a sad thing for many people who don't get to experience true motherly or fatherly love.  Summary : Today we presented our Origin Myth Poster. Reflection : I realize that everyones t...

Write about something that you wish you had more of.

Prompt Response:  I wish to have more money. With this money, it would lessen my mom's stress and would grant her a chance to take a break or go on vacation, pay for her health too. I can also buy beautiful gifts for her and my family including gifts for my grandparents in my country. I would be able to take my grandparents, who never travelled before, to see many places and have fun experiences. I want to be able to make precious unforgettable memories with all my family members. I would also be able to pay for financial literacy classes that way I can generate more money. I would donate a lot to those who need it too.  Summary: Today we discussed some of the questions about existence and we continued to work on our visual representation for our myth story.  Reflection:  I learned that I want to give a lot of things to my family. I also learned that there are stuff I can't do yet but they will eventually come.

What is the most creative thing you have ever made? Share what it was and explain why it stands out as your best work.

Prompt response:  One of the most creative things I have ever made was coding a tune using python. I went to GA Tech for a summer coding camp last. We learned how to put together different sounds and make a piece of music as we coded. At first, it was hard to understand because we were introduced to rules that could do a set of things. However; I overcame the difficulty, so I made a tune which made me so proud of my creativity and my hard work. It was a fun experience where I made new friendships and learned so much.  Summary: We finished our myth story and started the visual representation of our myth story.  Reflection: I learned that there are many ways to improve my creativity. Finding good resources, like Adobe Express is a great way to discover a new type of creativity.

Everyone has burning questions about life. Mysteries we wonder about but don’t always have clear answers for. Think about your biggest questions about existence, purpose, or the world around you. Write a blog post where you share at least two of your most burning questions about life and explain why these questions matter to you.

Everyone has burning questions about life. Mysteries we wonder about but don’t always have clear answers for. Think about your biggest questions about existence, purpose, or the world around you. Write a blog post where you share at least two of your most burning questions about life and explain why these questions matter to you. Prompt Response:   One of my biggest questions is " Why can't humans just co-exist with nature?" I see the world around me and I think to myself how beautiful the area would be if only it had nature in it. I find that having flowers or various types of plants, even if it's fake, is very stimulating to my brain and has a good vibe when I enter a new environment. My second question is " How can I live a fulfilling and meaningful life?" I have no idea what I want to accomplish in my life. Whenever I see movies, I wonder if I can achieve many things like the main character does.  Summary: Today we read a short story about how Earth a...

Describe a time you felt completely lost.

Prompt Response:  A couple years ago, I was going through a phase in my life where I didn't know my identity or my worth. My self esteem was not the best and I felt that I was missing something. But one day, a video pop up in one of my social media account, it talked about how there was someone who was always there for me and loved me so unconditionally and that gives the purest of love one could experience. It was Jesus's love. From that day on, my mindset and self esteem changed forever. Even if my life has the worst conflicts, He is the only person I ever open up to. I tell Him about my problems and it makes me feel heard and understood. My life has started to have a path now. I won't get lost anymore. Summary: Today we presented our group presentations to the class and started our blog. Reflection:  I learned not to overthink presenting and that everything is not as bad as it sounds. Also nobody cares as much as you do, so just do the thing and I'll be fine.

Analyze how you’ve adapted to the demands of this course over the past week, and evaluate one strength and one challenge you anticipate as we progress, justifying your insights with personal examples.

Analyze how you’ve adapted to the demands of this course over the past week, and evaluate one strength and one challenge you anticipate as we progress, justifying your insights with personal examples. Prompt response :  Over the past week, this course has been manageable for me. I have been completing my blogs which take a bit of time to think and write but they are something I am capable of doing. One of my strengths as we go through the school year is reading texts and answering questions; however, my writing style and grammar will be one thing I will try to manage and improve. For example, our recent blog about jealousy, I took a bit of time to come up with a right story telling paragraph.  Summary : Today we did an Origin Myth Quiz with 14 questions to answer about the text.  Reflection : From the story in the quiz today, I learned that when someone is being too selfish, they will eventually lose someone or deceive a consequence. Thinking about how others feel ...

Describe a real-life situation in which jealousy negatively affected a relationship you experienced.

Promt response: Since we started school, my best friend has a friend which she talks to every time she sees her more than me. Whenever I do the same or show more friendliness to my other friends, she questions why I act that way, so in return, I ask her the same thing but with her friend. I was questioning who her best friend was because since we met we had a strong connection with each other. We both realized that if we get jealous over situations like that, then our bond could break. We don't want that, so we are making our bond even stronger now and trust that our bond is stronger than jealousy. Summary: Today we read and discussed The Jealous Father and worked on a project about it.   Reflection:  The Jealous Father made me think how jealousy can make you do unthinkable actions to people who are close to you. I realize that action with jealousy can break and hurt the people involved.

Write about a meaningful object or place in your life that carries a story.

Promt  When I was about 5 years old, my cousins and I used to play around this one specific tree that wasn't far away from the main house. We used to climb it and hang from it, as a result we got scolded by our grandpa most of the time. He kept telling us to not climb it, or else the tree would die. We didn't listen, so over the months or perhaps years, the outer layer of the bark began to wear out, making it have a smooth appearance and texture. The tree, to me at least, holds the good happy days when I was a child and had little to worry about.  Summary: Today we read the Navajo Creation Myth, a myth about how the world came to be.        Reflection: I learned that humans and nature can live together.

Write about a time you felt connected to nature, like the kinship in Native American myths.

Promt:  A few years ago I went to the beach with my family. The day was warm and perfect. As the evening got closer, the sun's light began to soften and painted beautiful hues in the sky: pink, purple, and blue. The waves were sparkly, shiny and golden as they splashed in the seashore. We slowly saw how the sun was descending on the horizon. I wanted to stop at that moment because it's not everyday I get to see such a wonderful sight. I felt so close to nature and thankful at the same time for a long-lasting memory.  Summary: Today we got an introduction to Native American Literature. Reflection: I learn that nature was very important to Native Americans.
