After viewing your classmates’ poem posters, select one presentation that caught your attention. Describe what you enjoyed about it or something new you learned from their work.

 Prompt Response: One presentation that caught my attention was the poem that told his walk with God. I enjoyed how his poem gave the theme of whether through good or bad seasons, the Lord is there with you. Often times I get lonely through bad times, but I always try to remind myself that God is there even when I don´t feel it. I also liked how he emphasizes the part of ”Lord, will you carry me?” because it reflects a part of me that asks the same to God because he is the only true father figure in my life. The part that talks about the showing perseverance when the flesh is trying to tempt you is also something that I relate to because there will always be temptation around you, but you have to endure to see the beauty at the end. Overall, I enjoyed the message of his poem.

Reflection: The writing process is crucial to make a good essay. Pre-writing, drafting, revising, editing, and presenting are the 5 steps to write a good essay. However, when you edit, you must proofread it at least 5 times and of the 5, one of them can´t be me.

  Prompt Response: The conversation that change me was a conversation about a growth mindset. In one of my classes, I met a new guy in my life and we gradually became friends. One of our conversations was about his goals and plans in life. I listened while he was passionately talking about how he was going to join the army for mere personal achievement, and what career he was going to take after finishing his military service. I had never met someone who had a personal growth mindset, so it inspired me to apply that mindset to not be ¨ wasted potential ¨. Prompt Response:  The chapter that stood out to me was chapter 6. In chapter 6, McCandless met Franz who was a like father figure to him. This chapter is interesting to me because it shows how McCandless was a charismatic person that was able to make meaningful, brief relationships along his journey. If you had to describe how you show love using only three objects (for example: a playlist, a hoodie, a late-night snack, a long text message, etc.), what would you choose and why? Explain what each object represents and how it connects to your personality.

Prompt Response:  I would choose gifts, kind notes, and camera to show my love for the people I care about. I love making gifts for others and finding things that make me remember them. I also like writing nice things about them to remind them how special they are to me and because I tend to be shy to say it out aloud. Finally, I would choose a camera to take pictures of them and remember the happy memories. I feel these objects show how I tend to show my love through mostly small actions that make the other person feel special to me and show how considerate and thoughtful I am.  Summary: Today we wrote a poem to someone we care and love about.
