Imagine you are learning about Hispanic/Latino heritage for the very first time. What would you be curious to know about the traditions, foods, music, or celebrations?

 Prompt Response: If I were to be learning about Hispanic/Latino heritage for the very first time, I would wonder how traditions and celebration, foods, and music differ across the region. For traditions, I would wonder why are quiceaneras celebrated and does north and central america celebrate it or what are the biggest traditions celebrated in different Hispanic/Latino countries. For food, I would wonder what is the story behind tamales, empanadas, or arepas and what are some traditional drinks. For music, I would wonder what are the different styles of music across Latin countries and where do they originate. Another question I would wonder is how do indigenous, African, Spanish influence their culture. 

 Summary: Today we kept learning about the writing process and had a class discussion about topics that are overrated.

Reflection: How to create clusters is very important for writing. The middle of the cluster is the main concept of the prompt while the other bubbles around it are sub topics about the main concept.

  Prompt Response: The conversation that change me was a conversation about a growth mindset. In one of my classes, I met a new guy in my life and we gradually became friends. One of our conversations was about his goals and plans in life. Prompt Response:  The chapter that stood out to me was chapter 6. In chapter 6, McCandless met Franz who was a like father figure to him. This chapter is interesting to me because it shows how McCandless was a charismatic person that was able to make meaningful, brief relationships along his journey. If you had to describe how you show love using only three objects (for example: a playlist, a hoodie, a late-night snack, a long text message, etc.), what would you choose and why? Explain what each object represents and how it connects to your personality.

Prompt Response:  I would choose gifts, kind notes, and camera to show my love for the people I care about. I love making gifts for others and finding things that make me remember them. I also like writing nice things about them to remind them how special they are to me and because I tend to be shy to say it out aloud. Finally, I would choose a camera to take pictures of them and remember the happy memories. I feel these objects show how I tend to show my love through mostly small actions that make the other person feel special to me and show how considerate and thoughtful I am.  Summary: Today we wrote a poem to someone we care and love about.
