Describe a time when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you

 Prompt Response: I always thought that successful people always use discipline but there is one more thing they have, obsession or passion. A very wise friend of mine told that every successful person may have talent, passion or discipline, but they have obsession. They are not able to stop because they are too focused on their goal. They start doing it because they love it very much which enables them to always keep moving forward, even when things get hard. Before I believed that working hard was enough, but now I understand that passion gives meaning to discipline. For example, a person who goes to the gym can be disciplined and make progress, but when they truly love the result and progress, it stops feeling like work. They go naturally, with almost no effort. Since I had this conversation with my friend, I tried to apply this by focusing on what I love, not what I have to do. 


Summary: Today we worked on an argument and reviewed formal and informal language. 

Reflection: I did the blog and thought about the written response.

  Prompt Response: The conversation that change me was a conversation about a growth mindset. In one of my classes, I met a new guy in my life and we gradually became friends. One of our conversations was about his goals and plans in life. I listened while he was passionately talking about how he was going to join the army for mere personal achievement, and what career he was going to take after finishing his military service. I had never met someone who had a personal growth mindset, so it inspired me to apply that mindset to not be ¨ wasted potential ¨. He emphasized how everyone has the potential given by God to become something in life and that there are opportunities for everyone to find. Prompt Response:  The chapter that stood out to me was chapter 6. In chapter 6, McCandless met Franz who was a like father figure to him. This chapter is interesting to me because it shows how McCandless was a charismatic person that was able to make meaningful, brief relationships along his journey. This is also the first time that McCandless had someone who cared deeply for him and taught him.  Summary: Today we took a test for chapter 1-10 Reflection:  I finished the test

If you had to describe how you show love using only three objects (for example: a playlist, a hoodie, a late-night snack, a long text message, etc.), what would you choose and why? Explain what each object represents and how it connects to your personality.

Prompt Response:  I would choose gifts, kind notes, and camera to show my love for the people I care about. I love making gifts for others and finding things that make me remember them. I also like writing nice things about them to remind them how special they are to me and because I tend to be shy to say it out aloud. Finally, I would choose a camera to take pictures of them and remember the happy memories. I feel these objects show how I tend to show my love through mostly small actions that make the other person feel special to me and show how considerate and thoughtful I am.  Summary: Today we wrote a poem to someone we care and love about. Reflection:   I finished my poem.
