In “Birches,” Robert Frost celebrates imagination as a way to escape life’s difficulties and reconnect with innocence. The speaker wishes to “get away from earth awhile” but also understands that he must eventually return to reality. Think about the role of imagination in your own life. How does imagination help you cope with challenges, boredom, or stress?

Prompt Response: Imagination helps me cope with both boredom and challenges in my life. Sometimes when I am feeling bored in class, I imagine myself out in the world traveling and being able to feel nature around. Sometime I imagine a very successful version of me that has clear goals, and friends that support her. When there are difficulties in my life, I imagine the reason as to why it it happening and how what it is going to teach me. Maybe saying stuff like "so that why that thing happen" with a smile of relief because I've got a meaning in it. Imagination helps me picture solutions or outcomes in a fun way which gives me hope and creativity in my life. It adds color and fun in my life.

Summary: Today we worked on some analytical questions for ¨Out Out¨ and analyzed and discussed the poem “Birches,” Robert Frost, as well as started a Powerpoint presentation based on the poem.

Reflection: I will think about my childhood memories for the presentation.
