Prompt Response: The film version of Chris's journey makes his choices seem justifiable because in the beginning it shows the beauty that he longed for and his rejection from materialistic things, like the car his parents were trying to give him. It also shows how his self actualization rather than his judgement from others. The book introduces characters their interactions, thoughts and view about McCandless, like Gallien at the beginning, and dives deeper into his complex family dynamic.
