McCandless set out to live independently in the wilderness, but his death reveals the harsh reality of nature and survival. In your blog post, analyze how his desire for independence contributed to his death. Then, connect this idea to your own life by explaining a time when you wanted complete independence or control over a situation. Did things go as planned, or did you face unexpected challenges?

Prompt Response:  McCandless desire to for independence contributed to his death as he wanted to be independent from everyone and everything. He rejected societal norms and important survival skills and tools. For example, he rejected valuable knowledge that could have helped him escape from the area he was in Alaska and could have save him from food poisoning. In my personal life, I want to have control over what career path I want to choose rather than having pressure to follow a specific career that won't make me happy. But the pressure from choosing the "right path" and not messing it up is challenging to manage especially when I will be the first in my family to go to college.

Summary: Today we went over the remaining chapters of the book and watched the film adaptation

If you had to describe how you show love using only three objects (for example: a playlist, a hoodie, a late-night snack, a long text message, etc.), what would you choose and why? Explain what each object represents and how it connects to your personality.
